Amazon is discounting its newest Ring Video Doorbell as part of its Prime Day promotion, pairing the gadget with an Echo Dot speaker at more than half off.
In fact, the latest Ring Video Doorbell with an Echo Dot bundle can be had for just over 53-percent off its original price. So you can pair your doorbell with a speaker for free and get a steep discount while doing so.
As part of the Prime Day promotion, of course, you'll have to be an Amazon Prime member to gain access. Usually, that comes with an annual or monthly subscription cost. But there's also a 30-day free trial available here, and the promotion will work with that too. That's in addition to free 2-day shipping and other perks.
With the promotion in place, Amazon has knocked the cost of the Ring Video Doorbell down to just $69.99. Otherwise, the smart home-connected doorbell costs $149.98. And, as noted already, Amazon is throwing in an Echo Dot speaker to sweeten the deal.
Amazon also packs in the speaker irrespective of which color configuration buyers choose. So you'll be able to pick out whichever scheme best matches your home and the cost will stay the same. Amazon sells the Ring Video Doorbell in Satin Nickel or in Venetian Bronze.
In either case, the doorbell packs the same features as well. So it'll provide 1080p HD video and audio that can be accessed via a phone, tablet, or PC. And it'll provide mobile notifications based on a press of the doorbell or the built-in motion sensors.
The doorbell can be installed wirelessly and utilize the built-in rechargeable battery or hardwired directly in place of an existing doorbell. The company includes all of the requisite hardware in the box.
For those that want a bit more, the included Alexa-enabled speaker works for announcements and two-way communications with the Ring doorbell. Users can review their recorded photos or videos for up to 60 days, complete with sharing, for just $3 per month with a Ring Protect Plan.
