Redmi K50 Ultra Unveiled With Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, Large Battery & More

The Redmi K50 Ultra is the latest Redmi-branded smartphone, and also the most powerful one to date. This handset comes with immensely powerful specifications, while it does resemble Xiaomi’s latest flagships.

The phone comes with a flat display, which has a centered display camera hole. There are three cameras included on the back, while the phone is made out of metal and glass.

The Redmi K50 Ultra comes with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC

It is fueled by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, and packs in 8GB/12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. The 8GB RAM model comes in 128GB and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage flavors, while the 12GB RAM model offers 256GB and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage variants.


The phone includes a 6.67-inch 2712 x 1220 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It has a 480Hz touch sampling rate, while it supports HDR10+ content and Dolby Vision.

Android 12 comes pre-installed on the device, along with MIUI 13. There are two nano SIM card slots on the inside, while an in-display fingerprint scanner is also a part of the package. The same goes for an infrared sensor too.

A 5,000mAh battery is also included, and 120W charging supported

A large 5,000mAh battery sits on the inside, while the phone supports 120W wired charging. Wireless charging is not supported, and the same goes for reverse (wireless) charging.


A 108-megapixel main camera (Samsung’s ISOCELL HM6 sensor, OIS) sits on the back, along with an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera (f/2.2 aperture). The third camera on the back is a 2-megapixel macro unit (f/2.4 aperture).

Stereo speakers are included here, while Dolby Atmos is supported. The device supports 5G connectivity, and Bluetooth 5.2. Wi-Fi 6E 802.11 ax is also supported here.


The device also offers large heat dissipation area

The phone has a VC heat dissipation area of 3,725mm2, and a total 12-layer heat dissipation area of 30,000m2.

Now, the phone comes in Black, Silver, and Blue colors. In addition to that, two special edition variants got announced, the ‘Genshin Impact’ and ‘Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team Summer Edition’.

The phone’s pricing starts at CNY2,999 ($445) while the most expensive regular model costs CNY3,999 ($593). The Mercedes edition is priced at CNY4,199 ($623). The device launched in China, while there’s still no info regarding global availability.
