WWE’s first PPV since the big Wrestlemania extravaganza last month is happening this weekend. On Sunday, May 16, Wrestlemania Backlash is taking place at the WWE Thunderdome in Tampa, Florida. Despite having Wrestlemania take place in front of fans last month, the WWE is continuing to use the Thunderdome for its shows and PPVs.

The name of this PPV is a bit clumsy, “Wrestlemania Backlash” but it fits perfectly. Generally the first PPV after Wrestlemania is full of rematches from Wrestlemania. So the name “Wrestlemania Backlash” makes sense, as some stars are facing backlash from the results of Wrestlemania at Raymond James Stadium in April.

This PPV will have two triple-threat championship bouts. With WWE Champion Bobby Lashley taking part in one, and Raw Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley in the other. Smackdown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair is also going to be facing off against Bayley in what is bound to be an incredible match.

How To Watch WWE Wrestlemania Backlash 2021

If you’re in the US, you’re going to need to subscribe to Peacock to watch Wrestlemania Backlash. Peacock costs just $5 per month, and brings in a load of other content to watch as well, from the NBCUniversal library. This is the third PPV that has been available on Peacock. Once you login to Peacock, you’ll see “WWE” in the top bar, click on that and you’ll see the PPV when it is live, as well as the rest of the WWE library.

You can sign up for Peacock here. It’s really worth signing up for, particularly if you are a Comcast or Cox customer, as you get Peacock for free.

Outside of the US, you’ll still need to use the WWE Network, which is around $9.99 everywhere else.

Wrestlemania Backlash match card

The match card for Wrestlemania Backlash is pretty light as of right now. With only six matches, though five of those are championship matches, which is impressive. Considering this is not the Night of Champions PPV. As always, this match card is subject to change, and there’s still one more episode WWE TV to take place before Wrestlemania Backlash. So there could be another match or two added to the card.

  • Universal Championship match: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Cesaro.
  • WWE Championship match: Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Braun Strowman.
  • Raw Women’s Championship match: Rhea Ripley vs. Asuka vs. Charlotte Flair.
  • SmackDown Women’s Championship match: Bianca Belair vs. Bayley.
  • SmackDown Tag Team Championship match: Dolph Zigger and Robert Roode (c) vs. Rey and Dominik Mysterio.
  • Lumberjack match: Damian Priest vs. The Miz.

When does Wrestlemania Backlash start

Like all PPVs, Wrestlemania Backlash will start at 7PM ET/4PM PT. With the Kickoff show starting at 6PM ET/3PM PT. As always, it’ll be streaming on Peacock in the US and the WWE Network everywhere else.

In the past, PPVs have only lasted until around 10:30. Being just a tad bit longer than an episode of Monday Night Raw. And given how light the match card is right now, that might be the case this time too.
