HBO MAX is a really great subscription service, with tons of content available. And currently, it’s actually cheaper than Netflix. But that doesn’t mean that it is for everyone. And if you’re looking to save $15 per month (or $10 if you’re on the ad-supported tier), then it might be a good idea to cancel your HBO MAX subscription, and today we’ll show you how to do it.

Thankfully, HBO MAX does make it easy for everyone to cancel their subscription. So it’s just a few clicks away, and no need to call in for customer support like some services force you to do. Making it very millennial-friendly.

Without further ado, here’s how you can cancel your HBO MAX subscription. Keep in mind that if you do get HBO MAX included with another service – like AT&T Internet, Cable or phone service – then you’ll need to jump through a few more hoops. Though, why would you want to cancel something that is free in that case.

Now, you’re going to want to click on “Manage Subscription” and then “Cancel Subscription”. As you can see below, my account is billed through AT&T, so I would need to login to AT&T to cancel.

Next, you’ll need to confirm your cancellation, and that’s it. That’s all there is to it. It’s just that easy, fortunately, as many other streaming services do make it more difficult to cancel.

Your account won’t actually cancel until your bill date passes. HBO MAX does not do any prorating and giving back refunds. Basically, cancelling your account is turning off the auto-renew every month.
