If you’ve ever played that one pool game on Yahoo Games, the one that was extremely popular, well… this one is kind of similar. It’s a 2D game, but that’s not a bad thing, not at all. The graphics are quite nice, and pleasant to look at.


This is an online game. As soon as you fire it up, you’ll be matched with someone who has a similar experience as you (is a beginner), and you’ll be able to play 1 vs 1. As you progress, you’ll be unlocking new pool cues, with improved abilities and so on. You’ll also be getting some points for various other in-game items. As you progress, you’ll also be able to compete in tournaments, etc.

This is as close as it gets to actually playing pool in real-life, basically. There are also several game modes to choose from.


You can play 8 Ball, 9 Ball, UK 8 Ball, Snooker, Time Trial, Matrix Mode, and Practice Mode. That’s yet another reason why we consider this to be one of the best 3D pool games on Android. The physics are also really good, and it just feels good while you’re playing, it’s hard to describe until you try it. The game has been nicely-tuned, and it’s a joy to play, to say the least.

Pool Empire is a great 2D pool game for Android. This game even has a story mode that you can play. That story mode allows you to progress, and challenge the very best billiards players around the world. You can essentially work your way up to become a professional player, and earn that privilege. This is not the only mode that you can play in this game, though, not even close.


The game offers PvP mode, that will set you up with a random player online. In addition to that, you have the 14-1 mode at your disposal. That mode will get you to practice your billiards skills, and strengthen your scoring ability. The Tournament mode is also included, with 8 players. If you win, you can win various awards. The game’s graphics is quite nice, while you also have a snooker mode to play, if you prefer that.

Pool Stars is probably the best-looking pool game for Android. What do I mean by that? Well, its graphics is gorgeous. This game really does look amazing, as you can see even the tiniest details in it, along with reflections on pool balls and whatnot. On top of that, it’s a really good game in general. This is a first-person 3D pool game, by the way, so it’s closer to realism than many other games on the list.

That being said, the game does offer a 2D mode as well, if that’s what you prefer. You can play a career mode here, as a single player. You can choose whether you prefer 8 Ball or 9 Ball pool. Practice mode is also included, while you can create your own challenges as well, which can be immensely fun. If you prefer online gameplay vs other players from around the world, that’s an option as well.

Pool Billiards Pro

Pool Billiards Pro is a pool game for Android that probably has the best arcade mode. Why? Well, there are basically no rules for it. You simply need to pocket all the balls on the table within the given number of cues, that’s it. There’s no time limit, nor do you have to pay attention in which order you pocket them. This can be immensely fun, as you can sharpen up your skills.

There is also a time mode as well, but also with no rules. It’s the same as the one we’ve mentioned, but you have a specific time limit to pocket all the balls. If you prefer more traditional modes, you can always play the vs mode or the player vs computer mode, as with many other titles on this list. This is a 2D game, and it’s immensely fun to play, especially if you prefer that arcade mode.

8 Ball Hero is yet another interesting pool game. This game actually puts up a bit more show toe the forefront, than other games on the list. It comes with really great graphics, and you can also see the audience, players, and various other details. You can select your character, and compete in various tournaments here. You can create your character, that is, as various editing options are available.

You’ll even get proper commentary in this game, which makes it kind of unique. You can win various trophies, badges, and even represent your homeland in this game. There are various ‘challenging objectives’ to complete, and so on. The game is really filled with content, and chances are you’ll enjoy it. As with almost every title on the list, in-app purchases are included, but you’re not forced to pull the trigger.

The graphics in the game are also really good. The atmosphere that the graphics create is relaxed, and you only get access to 8 Ball pool here, so keep that in mind. The vast majority of you will probably prefer that mode either way.

There are various challenges available here, while you can also compete in various different bards, and win trophies as well. The ultimate goal is to become the Billiards City champion. This is a single player game, though, just keep that in mind. The game really shines in that regard, so that shouldn’t be a negative. If you prefer online gameplay, you’ll need to look elsewhere.

The game will also run at 60 FPS constantly, which only enhances the mood.

You can either play in a single player mode, or in a multiplayer one… both local and online variations are available. You can choose between Practice, Quick Play, or Tournament modes. 8 Ball, 9 Ball, and 10 Ball pool modes are available, US variations. And Black Ball mode is also included, it’s based on WPA rules. There are various camera views on offer here, along with 20+ game achievements for you to collect.

The ball physics is spot on here, and the game allows you to challenge various different levels, based on your ability. You’ll need to practice your skills in order to reach a competition in a bar, and ultimately win in those.

If you win, you’ll get a trophy. The goal is to become the 8 Ball Pooling champion. That being said, 8 Ball pool is what you’ll play here, that’s the only mode available. The graphics in the game is also nice, by the way, if that’s something you care about. The game is free, though ads are included in the mix. There are no in-app purchases though.
