Just when you thought that every Google service has gotten the Material You paint job, we see that another one has been missing out. The company has been adding the new design aesthetic to a lot of its smaller apps and services for the past several months. Now, according to Android Police, Google Tasks is getting the Material You treatment.

Google recently updated apps like the Google app and Google Chat with Material You elements. Certain sections of these apps now have the rounded and bubbly look that adorns most other Google apps. This helps bring them in line with the other apps from the company and create a more consistent look.

Google Tasks is getting Material You

If you’re a person who likes to keep your life organized with a to-do list, then you should be familiar with Google Tasks. This is one of Google’s many integrated services. You’re able to add tasks to a to-do list, and you’ll be able to see those tasks on Google Calendar if you add a time and date to them.

The latest update to the app adds subtle changes throughout. For starters, the bottom bar got the biggest revamp. Previously, you’d see a hamburger-style menu on the left with a three-dot menu on the right. In the center, you’d see a circular Add task button with the red, blue, green, and yellow “+” symbol.

After the change, the bottom bar will match the Dynamic Color theme that you have set. You’ll see three options on the left side of the screen with the Add task button on the right side. This time, that button is a rounded square rather than a circle.

Other parts of the interface have also gotten rounder with the change. When typing in a new task, you’ll see the banner above your keyboard has rounded corners, and it also complies with your color theme. All of the buttons are in the same place.

Also, the calendar and the light/dark theme selector have rounded corners and they’ll match your color theme. That’s pretty much it for the changes.

The update should be rolling out to your devices soon. If you don’t see the changes yet, look for Google Tasks on the Play Store and see if the update is available. You’ll want to wait a few days if you don’t see it.
