Samsung‘s Android 13 beta testing is moving along nicely. The company launched the beta program for the Galaxy S22 series in August and has since opened it up for several other Galaxy devices. It has also released multiple beta builds to most of those devices. With just a few days left for the stable Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update, Samsung has now rolled out new beta updates to the Galaxy S21 and the Galaxy Note 20.
Galaxy S21 and Galaxy Note 20 get new Android 13 beta updates
This is the third Android 13 beta update for the Galaxy S21 series. Initially released in India, the latest build comes with a firmware version ending with ZVJ6. The update should also be available in other regions anytime now, including the US. In some regions, this may be the second beta update, though. Samsung didn’t release the first build everywhere. Likewise, the Galaxy Note 20 series is receiving its second Android 13 beta update in the US but first in South Korea. The firmware identifier for the last Note phones is ZVJ8.
Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy Note 20, and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra users enrolled in Samsung’s One UI 5.0 beta program will receive the latest beta releases over the air (OTA) like regular software updates. You can check for it by navigating to Settings > Software update and tapping on Download and install.
As you might expect, Samsung has fixed several known bugs with these releases. The official changelogs mention fixes for camera autofocus issues, system crashes, animation problems, DeX issues, Bluetooth crashes and connectivity problems, video editor bugs, and more. There are little to no notable feature additions or improvements, suggesting that the company is nearing the stable Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update. Well, the firm has already confirmed that the rollout will begin later this month.
Samsung will release the stable Android 13 update this month
As said earlier, Samsung has been beta testing Android 13 along with its One UI 5.0 custom software since August. Over the past couple of months, the company has rolled out dozens of beta updates to its devices. It has quashed pretty much all known bugs and is now almost ready to roll out the stable update. The Galaxy S22 series, which has received five beta updates so far, will get the stable version later this month. There are rumors of one more beta build before that, though. If true, it should arrive within the next few days. We will let you know when the next Android 13 update for the Galaxy S22 series is released.
