We learned last month that Samsung is developing the Galaxy A14 5G as its most affordable 5G smartphone of 2023. The company will also launch the phone in a 4G-only variant. Expected to arrive early next year, we now have our first look at the 4G model thanks to leaked renders courtesy of none other than Steve H. McFly, aka @OnLeaks (via). The leaker has also shared some of the key specs of the phone.
Leaked Galaxy A14 renders gives us a first look at the upcoming budget phone
The leaked renders show the Galaxy A14 will look more premium than its predecessor, the Galaxy A13. Samsung has trimmed the bezels a little and switched to a U-shaped notch instead of a V-shaped one. The LC screen is flat and reportedly measures 6.8-inch diagonally. It’s an LCD panel with the same FHD+ resolution found on this year’s model but is notably bigger (Galaxy A13 has a 6.6-inch display). The new leak claims the upcoming device will be bulkier in dimension as well. We are looking at a size of 167.7 x 78.7 x 9.3 mm, vs. 165.1 x 76.4 x 8.8 mm.
On the back, the Galaxy A14 has a vertically-aligned triple camera setup with the three sensors protruding out of the back panel individually. The look from the back is identical to the Galaxy A13 5G instead of the 4G model. The latter has four cameras at the back. Samsung has removed one camera from the upcoming budget phone. Hopefully, it will compensate with newer sensors and improved photography algorithms.
As on any other Samsung phone, the Galaxy A14 has its power and volume buttons on the right side. The power button will double up as the fingerprint scanner. The bottom edge has a 3.5mm headphone jack, microphone hole, USB Type-C port, and a speaker grille. The SIM tray is on the left while a second microphone can be seen on the top.
The first batch of Galaxy A14 renders show the phone in black. But Samsung will surely offer it in other color options. We should hear more about the handset in the coming months as the company progresses with its development and prepares for the launch.
Samsung also has more Galaxy A series phones in development
Along with the Galaxy A14 and Galaxy A14 5G, Samsung also has at least a couple more Galaxy A series models in development as part of its 2023 lineup. The company has reportedly begun work on the Galaxy A34 and Galaxy A54. We will let you know when we have more information about these two devices. Meanwhile, you can see the Galaxy A14 in a 360-degree turntable video below.
