Galaxy S21 Android 13 Beta Opens In The US

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra AH 03

Galaxy S21 users in the US can now join Samsung‘s Android 13 beta program. The company Tuesday announced that the beta program, which brings its One UI 5.0 custom software, is open for the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra stateside. Only users with an unlocked device are eligible for the beta update, though.

Samsung first opened the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 beta for the Galaxy S21 series in its homeland South Korea about three weeks back. It has since expanded the beta program to the UK and India. Albeit a little late, the company has now started beta testing the new software in the US too, giving interested users a chance to try out the big update ahead of the public rollout.

To register your Galaxy S21 for One UI 5.0 beta, open the Samsung Members app and look for a banner about the beta program. Tap on the banner and follow the on-screen instructions to proceed. Note that you will need a Samsung account to register. Once you have completed the registration process, you will receive the update over the air (OTA) in about ten minutes. As always, you can navigate to Settings > Software update and tap on Download and install to check for the update.

The One UI 5.0 beta build that Galaxy S21 users are getting is different from the one rolled out in other markets, SamMobile reports. This should mean Samsung is preparing a second beta update for the Galaxy S21 series in South Korea, India, and the UK. The Galaxy S22 series has already received two One UI 5.0 beta builds. A third update is expected to arrive this week.

The Android 13 stable update for Galaxy devices may arrive next month

Samsung started public beta testing of Android 13-based One UI 5.0 for its Galaxy smartphones and tablets early last month. The new software package has plenty of goodies to look forward to. From subtle UI changes and improved system animations to new features, improved performance, and improved privacy and security, the update brings a lot.

While Samsung has opened a public beta only for the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S21 phones so far, it may soon add new models. Rumors are that the company is targeting a stable release by mid-October. The Galaxy S22 series will receive the update first but others will follow closely. We will let you know when the stable One UI 5.0 rollout begins.
