'Huawei P50 Pocket New' Allegedly Coming With A Cheaper Price Tag

Huawei P50 Pocket New poster leak 2

The Huawei P50 Pocket is the company’s first clamshell foldable. It launched back in December last year. That being said, Huawei has been rumored to be working on a sequel to this phone. Well, the Huawei P50 Pocket New may be coming with a cheaper price tag.

The Huawei P50 Pocket New may be on the way with a cheaper price tag

Now, by the looks of it, this could be a cheaper variant of the existing product, not necessarily a next-gen model. Well, unless Huawei intends to push the P50 Pocket’s successor to the mid-range line, of course.

Its name also leads us to believe that this is just a new variant of the existing product, as it has the ‘P50’ in its name. Based on the info that surfaced, the device will be considerably more affordable than the existing model.

SamMobile managed to get a hold of a seemingly-official poster of the device. Such images are usually shared by the Huawei Mobile Weibo account, but this one is not there. We’re not sure where it comes from, to be quite honest. You can check it out below.

It basically looks like the existing model without a second display

As you can see, the device itself is shown here, as is its name, the Huawei P50 Pocket New. This basically looks like the Huawei P50 Pocket without the second screen on the back.

This poster also claims that a 120Hz foldable display will be included, along with HarmonyOS 3 (in China). The ‘XMAGE’ branding is also mentioned, which is Huawei’s new camera branding. They’ll be using this now, as they’re no longer partnered up with Leica.

The Huawei P50 Pocket New price tags are also listed here. If true, the phone will come in 256GB and 512GB storage options. That is a bit odd for a mid-range smartphone, but there you go.

A considerably lower price tag is tipped

The 256GB storage model is said to cost CNY4,999 ($718), while the 512GB storage option will set you back CNY6,999 ($1,005). The question remains, though, if this poster is real or not, as it doesn’t seem like Huawei published anything.

This poster would not have been published before the launch of the device, that’s for sure. So, it either leaked, or something had a field day photoshopping the thing. We’ll have to wait and see.

It’s also possible that this phone remains exclusive to China. The design of the next-gen Huawei clamshell foldable actually surfaced at the end of last month. It adopts the two-tone design, and it paints an entirely different picture compared to the Huawei P50 Pocket. Chances are that will become the Huawei P60 Pocket, or whatever Huawei opts to call it.
