OBS Studio is getting its 28.0 update today and it includes a ton of feature upgrades for an even more streamlined and powerful software tool for streamers, including support for NVIDIA Broadcast. The NVIDIA Broadcast support is a big improvement because it contains a large list of features all on its own. Not the least of which is the ability to switch backgrounds without needing to have a green screen behind you.

This is all thanks to the AI-powered virtual background feature that NVIDIA Broadcast provides, which OBS Studio users can now take advantage of. With this background adjustment feature, OBS Studio users can easily upload a compatible image to use as their background. It’s also possible to blur the background if you prefer that over an image. And that has the potential for a really cool effect if you have a nice room design for your streaming setup.

OBS Studio users can expect these nifty NVIDIA Broadcast features

In addition to the above-mentioned features, NVIDIA Broadcast has even more to offer. Such as the auto frame camera which lets your camera track you no matter which way you move. Even if you lean out of frame to grab something. There’s also a noise echo removal feature to help keep your voice crisp and clear to your viewers.

In addition to these features from NVIDIA, OBS is also adding in some other improvements. Like the support for recording and streaming in HDR. Which you used to have to disable. There’s also now support for High Efficiency Video Encoding. OBS says the download should be ready for public use today, so there’s a good chance that all users will already have access to it.

If you don’t see the update yet, give it some time and it should pop up sometime before the end of the day. If you’d like to learn more about some of the cool features made available by the NVIDIA Broadcast app, the video below gives a brief overview of what you can expect.
