Samsung has a new rugged Android tablet in the pipeline, the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro. This tablet was once officially scheduled to arrive on July 13 this year but it is still missing in action. It appears the company prematurely announced that date as the product is still in the process of gathering regulatory approvals. A couple of weeks back, the tablet appeared on Safety Korea, Bluetooth SIG, and Google Play Console websites. Now, the FCC has certified the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro.
The upcoming rugged tablet from Samsung recently surfaced on the FCC database with the model number SM-T636B. This is the 5G variant of the device. The tablet is expected to sport a 10.4-inch display with Full HD resolution and support for Samsung’s S Pen. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G processor will power the device, with at least 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It features a micro SD card slot for expandable storage. The device will run Android 12L-based software out of the box.
The Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro is a rugged tablet and, unsurprisingly, features physical buttons for navigation. You also get a bulky body and big bezels around the display. For those who don’t need cellular connectivity, Samsung will also offer the device in a Wi-Fi-only variant. It bears the model number SM-T6360. The rest of the pecs should remain the same across the two models, including support for Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC.
Samsung may launch the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro soon
As mentioned earlier, Samsung had announced a July 13 launch for the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro back in mid-June. The tablet was supposed to be accompanied by another rugged product, the Galaxy XCover 6 Pro smartphone. But the latter went official about two weeks ahead of schedule. This came as a surprise because the company had just announced an official launch date for it.
Nonetheless, we expected the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro to arrive on time. But that wasn’t to be either. And this time around, Samsung didn’t prepone the launch but forgot about it altogether. Will all eyes on the big Galaxy Unpacked event earlier this month, no one talked about the rugged tablet missing in action. Now, with dust starting to settle around the new foldables, we are seeing the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro in more certification listings.
The latest developments suggest Samsung may finally be gearing up to launch the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro. We will keep you posted with all the latest information about it.
