We spent some time without Motorola flagship phones, and that didn’t really sit with fans of the brand. While we had the Moto Edge+ earlier this year, we’ve been following rumors for some more exciting phones. Now, Motorola has just confirmed the August launch date of these phones.
These phones are the Razr 2022 and the Moto X30 Pro. The former is the company’s next foldable phone. The latter is the next flagship phone that’s projected to have some killer specs.
Motorola will launch these phones on August 2nd
Right now, Samsung Season is fast approaching, as the company’s next Unpacked event is just weeks away. It’s set for August 10th, just over a week after Motorola’s event. This means that Motorola might steal some of Samsung’s thunder.
While some people laugh when comparing Motorola to Samsung, we can’t forget that Motorola is the third highest-selling smartphone company in the world. It owns about 10% while most of the other companies own far less. This company isn’t to be underestimated.
First up, the Razr 2022
This is a pretty exciting device because it’s the company’s return to the foldable market after not refreshing its Razr 2 last year. In fact, Motorola didn’t launch any flagships last.
The Razr 2022 is expected to be a wild departure from the Razr 2. The shape will be rather different, and the outer display is going to be a bit bigger. When it comes to the inner display, it’s expected to be quite large at 6.7 inches.
The one main gripe that people have about the phone is that the battery is going to be a bit smaller than that of the Razr 2. The Razr 2022 is expected to have a 2800mAh battery onboard. That’s a major disappointment, seeing as the Galaxy Z Flip 4 will have a 32% larger 3700mAh battery.
Next, the Moto X30 Pro
The next phone may not be a foldable, but it’s still exciting. This is for one main reason: the camera. The Moto X30 Pro is going to use the new Samsung ISOCELL HP1 camera sensor. What makes this significant is that this is a 200MP camera. This will make the Motorola X30 Pro the first phone with a 200MP camera.
While that’s a lot of pixels packed into each picture, the photos will be binned down to a lower resolution. Rumors say that the pictures will bin down to 50MP and 12MP.
Other specs include a 6.67-inch display, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, a 5,ooomAh battery, and a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. These are going to be some exciting phones to look forward to.
