The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 will have a considerably thinner hinge, it seems. The device is posing next to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 in two new image that appeared.
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 hinge shown in images, it will be considerably thinner
These images (shown below) come from Ice Universe. Do note that this is not a leak of the device, but renders made by the tipster, it seems. He says that this is “based on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 I saw”.
This is not the first time he shared something like this. Last month, he shared a similar image, but the Galaxy Z Fold 4 render was a bit less accurate in that comparison, it seems.
In that image, the Z Fold 4 had a thicker hinge, and thicker bezels around the cover display. These images seem to be more accurate, as the hinge will be thinner than initially thought, as will the bezels around the secondary display.
The difference in bezel thickness won’t be monumental compared to the Z Fold 3, but it’s noticeable. The hinge is a different story, though, you can clearly see a major difference here.
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 will also offer wider displays
Both displays on the device will have a different aspect ratio as well. They will be wider, and the phone will be shorter because of it. The device won’t be much wider, though, at least when folded, due to the fact its hinge will be thinner.
Other than that, it will resemble its predecessor quite a bit. The display camera hole is still there, on the cover display, while an under-display camera will be included on the main panel. We do expect its crease to be less pronounced this time around, though.
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 specifications also surfaced recently. They come from the same source as this comparison. Ice Universe claims that the specs he shared are 100-percent accurate.
The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC will fuel the phone, while its main display will measure 7.6 inches. It will be a QXGA+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Its secondary display will measure 6.2 inches, and it will be an HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The phone will include 12GB of RAM and arrive in 256GB and 512GB storage options. For more information, check out the full spec sheet shared by the tipster. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is expected to launch in August.
