As you can see, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 crease (on the right) is less noticeable than the Galaxy Z Fold 3’s. That has been one of the main complaints when it comes to the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Mainly because some other OEMs managed to offer a much less noticeable crease.
Looking at the crease of the Galaxy Z Fold 4, it doesn’t seem like it will be on the same level as some other phones. Devices like the OPPO Find N have several of them due to a different hinge, but they’re even less noticeable than the one shown here. You can’t even feel it under your finger.
Samsung wants to retain water resistance on its foldable smartphones
Samsung obviously won’t use a waterdrop hinge in the Galaxy Z Fold 4, though. There’s a good reason for that, though. Samsung wants to retain water resistance. The good news is, the Galaxy Z Fold 4’s hinge will be a lot narrower than the one on the Galaxy Z Fold 3. In other words, it will protrude way less.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is expected to arrive in August, during Samsung’s second Unpacked event of the year. The Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 are also tipped to launch during that event, by the way.
The Galaxy Z Fold 4 will be the star of the show, though. Many people are awaiting Samsung’s response to a number of other foldables that launched. Still, the vast majority of those foldables are not available outside of China, so Samsung still doesn’t have much competition in the global markets.
