The Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 is now available in an Onyx Black model to complement existing color options like Graphite, Olive, Lavender/Violet, and White. The new variant does look similar to the Graphite Galaxy Buds 2. But it seems like Samsung wants to provide an option for those that seek a glossy finish.
The key difference between the two variants is that the Onyx Black version has an all-black charging case. By contrast, the charging case on the Graphite Galaxy Buds 2 utilizes a combination of black and white colors.
This new color is only available in South Korea at the moment, costing roughly the equivalent of $115 (via Phone Arena). The Galaxy Buds 2 in Onyx Black will reportedly make its way to Europe over the coming weeks. However, It’s unclear if this particular variant will make it to other parts of the world.
Samsung recently rolled out the 360 Audio feature for the Galaxy Buds 2
The Galaxy Buds 2 is a decent proposition for those that want high-performance audio on a budget. Samsung has been kind enough to roll out some top-shelf features, like 360 Audio, to the Galaxy Buds 2 and the older Galaxy Buds Live. The feature initially debuted with the Galaxy Buds Pro early last year.
Despite the low cost of the Buds 2, it’s one of the best performers in the TWS earbuds segment. This is thanks to its extensive hardware and features. For starters, it offers 2-way audio (dual-driver) with an 11mm woofer and a 6.3mm tweeter. Additionally, it features three mics – one internal and two external. Meanwhile, the charging case packs 472mAh of juice, and the earbuds contain a 61mAh battery.
The Galaxy Buds 2 can last for up to 7.5 hours with ANC off and only 5 hours with ANC enabled. The case provides 60 minutes of non-ANC usage with just a five-minute quick charge, which is handy. Although the Galaxy Buds Pro continues to be the best Samsung earbuds, you can’t go too wrong with the Galaxy Buds 2 either.
Speaking of the Buds Pro, rumors claim the successor (aptly named the Galaxy Buds Pro 2) will arrive in August 2022. So it’s safe to assume that the refreshed Pro variant of the Galaxy Buds will debut with the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Z Flip 4. We hope it brings some additional price cuts to the Galaxy Buds 2, making the already excellent ANC earbuds even better.
