As most of you know by now, Google announced its new mid-range smartphone during yesterday’s keynote at Google I/O. That device is called the Pixel 6a, and it’s coming to Verizon.

Both the Pixel 6a & Pixel Buds Pro are on their way to Verizon

Verizon has announced that the phone will cost $499. Do note that the phone will be available for $449 directly from Google. So, why the price bump? Well, it’s almost certainly because of mmWave.

The unlocked Pixel 6a variant, which will be sold elsewhere, only supports Sub6 5G. mmWave is capable of offering higher 5G speeds. The Pixel 6a will likely support C-Band 5G on Verizon as well.

Verizon confirmed that the Pixel 6a will be available in Sage, Chalk, and Charcoal colors, starting at $13.88 a month for 36 months on Verizon Device Payment (0% APR).

In regards to the Pixel Buds Pro, they’ll be available in Charcoal, Fog, Coral, and Lemongrass colors. They’ll be available for $199.99, Verizon confirmed.

The Pixel 6a is smaller than its predecessor, and considerably more powerful

The Pixel 6a actually looks considerably different than the Pixel 5a. It adopts the Pixel 6 design, though it’s smaller than the Pixel 6. It comes with a 6.1-inch fullHD+ display, which is still a 60Hz panel.

The Google Tensor SoC fuels this phone, which makes it the first Pixel A series phone with Google’s very own processor. Google also included LPDDR5 RAM inside of this phone, and the same goes for UFS 3.1 flash storage.

Android 12 comes pre-installed on the phone, while the device has a really well-known camera setup. Stereo speakers are also included, and so is an in-display fingerprint scanner. Click here if you’d like to know more about the device.
