Garmin’s upcoming Forerunner 955 fitness wearable has appeared briefly on U.S. retailer Beach Camera’s website. Although the listing was taken down by the retailer shortly after, we now know what to expect from the latest addition to the popular Forerunner series of wearables.

The Garmin Forerunner 955 will be available in solar and non-solar versions

As per Gadgets and Wearables (via TechRadar), the Garmin Forerunner 955 will be available in a whitestone color variant. Based on the name, this new model could resemble the whitestone version of the Forerunner 745. The listing also reveals the inclusion of five hardware buttons plus solar charging. This aligns with previous reports claiming the Forerunner 955 will be available in solar and non-solar models.

The product listing also mentions a 15-day battery life (without GPS) for the solar variant of the Forerunner 955. However, there’s no information on the battery performance of the non-solar version. Moreover, the new Garmin wearable will reportedly feature 32GB of internal storage, presumably with the ability to store music natively. The taken-down product listing also reveals the wearable’s dimensions –  1.8 x 1.8 x 0.6 inches.

As for the all-important question of pricing, the Beach Camera website listed the Forerunner 955 for $499, and we don’t expect this to change on launch day. This is effectively the same price tag as the Forerunner 745 when it broke cover in late 2020. Although we don’t know much about the official launch date of Garmin’s latest fitness wearable, rumors suggest it will reach shelves by June.

In recent Garmin news, the company unveiled the Vívosmart 5 fitness tracker last month, featuring a wide range of fitness/health-related features and seven-day battery life. It also packs a blood oxygen monitor, heart rate monitor, accelerometer, and sleep monitor. But with a price tag of $149.99, it’s not the cheapest fitness tracker out there.

Garmin also launched the Fenix 7 series of rugged smartwatches in January

It’s been a pretty busy 2022 for Garmin, as evidenced by the company’s recent releases. The manufacturer took the wraps off the new Fenix 7 series in January. Customers can currently buy them in 42mm (Fenix 7S), 47mm (Fenix 7), and 51mm (Fenix 7X) variants. All models in this smartwatch lineup feature five side-mounted buttons.

Since they’re built for adventure, these wearables also come with a 10ATM waterproof design. Expectedly, the Fenix 7 series offers advanced health tracking features such as heart-rate monitoring, sleep tracking, and the ability to read blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) levels.
