Xiaomi is expected to launch more than one foldable smartphone by the end of this year. One of those devices is the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2, and that device will come with a smaller hinge, it seems. That information comes from @Shadow_Leak, a tipster.
The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 to offer smaller hinge, thinner main display
He also said that the phone’s folding display will be “relatively thin”. On top of that, he did mention that the phone will include a smaller battery than its predecessor. As a reminder, the Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold included a 5,020mAh battery.
The tipster did mention that the crease on the phone’s main panel will be less noticeable due to the new hinge. On top of that, the phone should be “easier to open and close” thanks to that hinge.
Now, as many of you know, Xiaomi announced the Mi MIX Fold last year. The company only announced one foldable smartphone thus far. The MIX Fold 2 may be the second, we’ll see. The company is tipped to announce more than one foldable device this year, though.
The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 will be a powerful phone, no doubt about that. The first-gen model included high-end specifications, and chances are that the second one will as well.
A rumor from earlier this month actually suggested that the device will feature the world’s first 360-degree hinge. That suggests it will be foldable both ways, though that’s kind of difficult to imagine. So we’re quite skeptical about that, this will likely be an inward-folding device.
The device may include an 8-inch main display, and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ SoC
Another rumor suggested that the device will offer a less visible crease, and that goes hand-in-hand with today’s info. On top of that, an 8-inch main display was mentioned, and a 6.5-inch secondary one. Both of those displays are tipped to offer a 120Hz refresh rate. That previous rumor also said that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ SoC may be included.
