After delivering the Android 12 update to the old Moto G Pro, Motorola is back again, surprising its fans. Notably, according to the latest report by Phone Arena, the Motorola Moto G200 5G is picking up the stable Android 12 update.
Motorola isn’t a brand that releases many high-end phones and also doesn’t have a phenomenal track record when it comes to delivering firmware updates.
The company pushed the Android 12 update first for the 2020-launched mid-range Moto G Pro and the Moto G30 from last year, ahead of the more powerful Moto G100 and Moto G200 5G. This itself hints that Motorola’s update schedule is all over the place, and there isn’t actually a schedule for rolling the updates out.
Whatever the case may be, the wait is finally over for Moto G200 5G owners, as the device is picking up the Android 12 firmware update. Its younger sibling, the Snapdragon 870-powered Moto G100, is still stuck with Android 11 across the globe right now.
It is expected that the Moto G100 will get the Android 12 update soon, as the update is already live for the Moto G200 5G.
Moto G200 5G Android 12 update also packs March 2022 security patch
Speaking of the Android 12 update for the Moto G200 5G, you can expect all the goodies in the latest firmware packs. This means you will get Material You design, dynamic theming, and conversation widgets. accessibility improvements, camera and mic indicators and toggles, and much more.
Along with all these features, the Android 12 update also bumps the security patch level of the Motorola Moto G200 5G to March 2022. It would have been better if it was the April security patch, but something is better than nothing.
The Android 12 update is currently rolling out for Moto G200 5G users in Europe, though only select markets are getting the update. The update isn’t available in the US and is expected to expand only to regions like Latin America and the UK in the near future.
If you reside in Europe and if your region is eligible to receive the Android 12 update, then you should have received the update notification on your Moto G200 5G phone.
Since the update is rolling out gradually, it may not be the case for everyone. In such a case, we would recommend that you manually check for updates on your phone.
To do so, you need to open Settings, and head over to About Phone. Here, click on the System updates button. Your device will check its official servers for an update, and if it detects one, it will prompt you to install it.
