Best Of MWC 2022: Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 Laptop Series

Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 Series 2022 Best Of MWC AH Award

Lenovo’s IdeaPad Gaming 3 series laptops blend exceptional gaming specs with a subtle design

This week at Mobile World Congress Lenovo unveiled the latest IdeaPad Gaming 3 series laptops, designed for students who also have a desire for a gaming machine that’s slightly more affordable. Lenovo has beefed up this year’s take on the student/gaming laptop hybrid by infusing it with more powerful components and some refined design elements. Like a more subdued aesthetic that doesn’t draw as much attention to itself as past models.

It’s also using better GPUs and CPUs, and 16:10 aspect ratios for both sizes of the displays with a decent refresh rate. And it’s managed to do all that while keeping the price still somewhat within reason. With starting prices at $989.99 for the Intel model and $929.99 for the AMD model. Taking the price and performance into account, as well as the design, the new IdeaPad Gaming 3 series laptops are going to be an enticing option for students looking for something powerful in the mid-range tier.

Which is why we gave the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 series laptops the award for Best of MWC 2022.

Lenovo promises quieter, more efficient cooling performance

Lenovo makes a wide range of laptops for all use cases. Gaming, student, business, general consumer everyday use. And while all of them tend to have their niche groups, it’s nice to see options that blur the lines between a couple of them. In this case, a student-focused laptop that can still put out some great gaming performance without raising the sticker price too much.

But one of the factors we found to be the most exciting is the promised cooling performance. Lenovo says these laptops will cool more efficiently while being quieter than previous models. And if you’ve ever played any demanding games on a gaming laptop, you already know how loud they can get.

Lenovo is suggesting that laptop fans that sound like jet engines upon takeoff shouldn’t be an issue here with these. Which is perfect since these are aimed at students. And the last thing you want is your laptop fans kicking up speed during class.

The IdeaPad Gaming 3 series 2022 laptops offer multiple configurations. With options for the latest Intel or AMD CPUs, up to 32GB of RAM, up to a 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD, up to an NVIDIA RTX 3060 GPU, 165Hz refresh rate displays, and the highly coveted 16:10 aspect ratio for the screen.

All-in-all, Lenovo is offering a solid set of laptops here for gaming. When it comes down to it, the price/performance is a good balance here that we think earned the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 series laptops for 2022 the Best Of MWC 2022 award.
