Huawei announced a bunch of new devices at MWC 2022, and one of them is an all-in-one PC. The Huawei MateStation X is the name of the device, and we’ve decided to hand it one of our MWC awards. This device is not only made out of premium materials, but it also looks very sleek and premium. On top of that, Huawei did its best to equip it with high-end internals, so that it can take a heavy workload.
Huawei really did manage to place a lot of technology in a rather small all-in-one device. The MateStation X comes in Space Gray and Mystic Silver color variants, and chances are that one of these will fit perfectly with any setup you have going at home. That being said, let’s talk more about the device.
Premium build & 4K+ touch-sensitive display
The Huawei MateStation X comes with a CNC-machined and sandblasted aluminum-alloy body. As you can see, it has really thin bezels around the display, and a gorgeous 4K+ touch-sensitive display. This display measures 28.2 inches, and we’re looking at a screen-to-body ratio of over 90-percent here. This is a 10-point multi-touch screen, so you have plenty of options when it comes to usage. This is still a 60Hz display, though.
It offers P3 cinema-level colors, and we’re looking at a 3:2 screen-to-body ratio. Huawei went with this ratio on purpose, as this is not imagined to be a multimedia machine. No, this is supposed to be a true workhorse, and the company wanted you to have as much space as possible, horizontally, while not messing with the landscape form factor.
AMD’s powerful SoC and an SSD
The AMD Ryzen 5000 series chip fuels the Huawei MateStation X. This device comes in two different SoC variants, with either the AMD Ryzen 5 5600H SoC, or the AMD Ryzen 7 5800H. Huawei also offers 16GB of DDR4 RAM (3,200MHz), and 512GB of storage. We’re looking at the NVMe PCIe SSD here. The graphics card is integrated, AMD Radeon graphics are included, of course.
Advanced cooling, and the Devialet factor
The Huawei Shark fin fan tech is here for heat dissipation. The device also comes with two full-range speakers, while the woofer is powered by Devialet’s Speaker Active Matching technology. There are also four microphones included inside, and they support sound pickup up to 5 meters.
Keyboard, mouse, and other tidbits
The Huawei MateStation X will ship with the Huawei Wireless Keyboard with Fingerprint (CD33), and the Huawei Bluetooth Mouse (AF30). That keyboard does have a fingerprint scanner, for security purposes, and the Huawei Share is built in.
Bluetooth 5.1 is also a part of the package here, and so is Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax. That goes for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi, by the way. You will also get a camera as part of the package, a 1-megapixel HD camera.
There is a headphone jack included on the Huawei MateStation X, and both USB-C (2x) and USB-A (2x) ports. Both of those are USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, in case you were wondering.
