TCL presented quite a few products at CES 2022, including 6 new tablets. Three of those tablets are made for kids, one comes with a paper-like display, while the other two are made for learning, creativity, productivity, and entertainment. We’ll talk about each of them below, where you’ll also find spec sheets for each of them.
TCL has 6 new tablets to show off, including one with a paper-like display
The TCL NXTPAPER 10s is a tablet with a paper-like display. TCL says that eye protection is one of its main features, and that it’s ideal for reading, of course. Blue right reduction “is front and center” says the company.
Its paper-like display design utilizes 10 layers of protection in order to retain natural colors. This display is TUV certified, and it reduces blue light emission by 50-percent. It also comes with an anti-glare finish.
You can use this tablet to write down notes with ease, if you end up using the T Pen. An 8,000mAh battery is also a part of the package here, while the Folio Keyboard and Writing Board accessories can also be used in collaboration with this tablet.
The TCL NXTPAPER 10s will be priced at $249, says the company. It will, however, arrive to China and Europe first, starting later this month.
TCL TAB 8 4G & TAB 10L
The TCL TAB 8 4G is the one focused on learning and creativity, while the TCL TAB 10L focuses on entertainment and productivity. These are budget tablets, by the way.
The TCL TAB 8 4G comes with a compact design, and a 4,080mAh battery. It does support 4G LTE connectivity. The TCL TAB 10L, on the flip side, is a larger alternative, and it comes with a 10.1-inch display.
The TCL TAB 8 4G will cost $129, and it’ll go on sale in Q1 2022, starting in Europe. TCL’s TAB 10L, on the other hand, will cost $99, and it’ll come to “select markets” in Q1 2022.
TCL TKEE series
In addition to those three tablets, the TCL TKEE series also got announced. The TCL TKEE MINI, MID, and MAX. These tablets have been “designed with children in mind”, says TCL.
These three tablets come with a different UI design that caters to kids. It is focused on learning, but doing so “safely and responsibly”. All three tablets were tested to be childproof and child safe, says the company.
These are protected by a robust bumper case, which can handle drops without a problem. Each of these tablets also comes with the TKEE Pen, so that your kid can improve its writing and drawing skills.
The TCL TKEE MINI costs $89, the MID is priced at $149, while the MAX has a price tag of $119. They will go on sale in select regions in Q1 2022.
The company also announced a child-friendly service available in Google Play and for all new TCL tablets called ‘TCL Kids’. It comes with a child-friendly library of educational and entertainment content with over 20,000 videos, 400 storybooks, and 50 kid-friendly apps.
It also offers a range of parental monitoring tools in order to keep the tabs on screen time, manage apps, and websites. You can also set health reminders for reading posture.
This service will become available in Q2 2022 for $3.99 a month. A 2-month free subscription will be available in some regions.
