The HONOR Magic V, HONOR’s first foldable smartphone, will launch on January 10. The company has announced this launch event, and it will take place in China. The global launch will follow later on, possibly next month.
The HONOR Magic V will launch on January 10 in China
That being said, the company announced this launch event via an official image, which has an image of the device. As you can see, part of the HONOR Magic V’s design is shown in this image.
This image does share quite a bit of detail, actually. It not only shows us the camera setup on the back, but you can also see a centered display camera hole of the secondary display, and the phone’s hinge.
The device will include three cameras on the back, which are vertically-aligned. Those cameras will protrude on the back. The back side also looks quite interesting, as if it has an interesting pattern. It looks like a ribbed glass of some sort, but it could only be an illusion, as the pattern could be located under the flat glass panel, we’ll see.
The hinge is visible here, and it will be hidden when the phone is unfolded. The device will have a regular earpiece at the top, which is also visible in this image. The frame will be made out of metal, and the same goes for the hinge.
The phone appeared in a teaser video recently
This is not the first time HONOR is sharing images of this phone, though. We’ve seen several of them in a teaser video. That video also showed us the phone’s main display, which doesn’t seem to have a display camera hole.
HONOR may not include a camera on the main display at all, or it may use an under-display one, we’ll have to wait and see. The device will be fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, that much has been confirmed.
The company will also livestream this event, which will take place on January 10 at 11:30 AM (UTC) in China. The event will be in Chinese, though, but subtitles may be available. As already mentioned, the global launch will take place later on, possibly in February.
