In November last year, Google was spotted working on a major upgrade for the At a Glance widget for Pixels. The company had several new features in development. Some of those are now starting to roll out to Pixel users.

A recent update for the Google app has added a timer and stopwatch to the At a Glance widget. So you no longer need to open the Clock app for these features. Additionally, you can also now see your upcoming bedtime on the widget. Lastly, the widget will now show data from your fitness apps as well. Hopefully, it will support most third-party fitness apps

Along with these new features, At a Glance also now offers a shortcut to quickly enable/disable “Sensitive content” on the lockscreen. The existing settings for weather, upcoming calendar events, and reminders are still available, of course.

As said before, Google is also working on a bunch of other features for At a Glance. The company wants to integrate its signature widget for Pixels with its other products such as Google Pay and Nest lineup of home automation devices. An upcoming feature called “At a store” will let users quickly see their shopping lists and Google Pay rewards cards from the widget.

Thanks to the planned integration with Nest doorbells, At a Glance will also let you see who’s at the door when your doorbell rings. Other upcoming features include a flashlight reminder, connection status and battery info for your Bluetooth devices, and the safety check countdown from the Personal Safety app. All of these features should roll out to users in the coming weeks or months. We will keep you posted.

Google has significantly improved the At a Glance widget over the past few months

Google originally teased a revamped At a Glance widget during I/O 2021 in May. The company eventually introduced the upgraded version with the launch of the Pixel 6 series and Android 12 in October. The following month, it was spotted working on several new features for the widget. Some of those features are now rolling out publicly.

According to a 9to5Google report, Google app version 13.2 is bringing the new features to the At a Glance widget on Pixels. If you have the latest version installed, you should be able to access the settings by long-pressing the widget and selecting Customize. You can click the button below to update the Google app to the latest version from the Play Store.
