The ZenFone 9 sketch leaks, the device may have two displays
If you take a look at the screenshot below, you’ll see what we’re talking about. This is allegedly a screenshot from the ASUS ZenFone 9, and it shows a small display on the back.
That display seems to be located under the phone’s dual camera system. The design of the back looks to be quite clean overall, presuming that the phone in the picture is the ZenFone 9, of course.
There are two cameras above that secondary display, and they’re vertically-aligned. The phone seems to have flat edges, though do note that this could be just a placeholder image or something. You can see part of the ‘ZenFone’ branding on the right. The first half of it is covered by the hand.
The second display is small, but it could be useful
That second display will probably be there to show you the time, notification status, and perhaps even allow you to interact with music playback control. We’re not sure if it will be touch–sensitive at all, but it likely will be.
Now, the provided screenshot also mentions the ‘Back double tap’, which you can enable. Enabling this will give you an option to double tap the phone’s back to launch a specific app, action, or whatever else the phone allows you to set. We’ve seen this feature on other devices, including iPhones and Pixel phones.
That’s basically everything that leaked. This is the first time we’re seeing the ZenFone 9 info, and a sketch of the phone itself, so take this info with a grain of salt.
The ASUS ZenFone 8 series launched in May, and chances are the ZenFone 9 will arrive mid-year as well. So, there’s still plenty of time before then, so nothing is set in stone.
ASUS did a really good job with the ZenFone 8 series, especially the vanilla ZenFone 8, so the expectations are high for the ZenFone 9. It remains to be seen if ASUS will once again launch two models, or will it change things up.
