According to two separate reports, Xiaomi may not be the first company to utilize the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 after all. Three Xiaomi 12 smartphones are said to launch this month, but they’re rumored to arrive on December 28.
The company’s CEO recently confirmed that Xiaomi will be the first to utilize the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Well, Motorola’s flagship is coming on December 9. If the Xiaomi 12 series does launch on December 28, it won’t be the first. Well, it may be the first to start selling it, though.
Three Xiaomi 12 smartphones are expected to launch this month
In any case, a well-known tipster, Digital Chat Station, says that three Xiaomi 12 phones are coming at the same time. The devices in question are the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 12X.
Do note that it’s still possible that the Xiaomi 12 Pro will be called the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. The Xiaomi 11 Ultra is currently the company’s most powerful smartphone, so it makes sense. These names haven’t been confirmed.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro / Ultra will be the most powerful of the three, and it will utilize the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 for sure. The vanilla Xiaomi 12 is likely to use that processor as well, but the Xiaomi 12X almost certainly will not.
The Xiaomi 12X will be the least expensive of the three
The Xiaomi 12X could utilize the Snapdragon 870, or something of the sort, but no info surfaced just yet. That device is also expected to be considerably more affordable than the Xiaomi 12 Pro / Ultra.
The specs of these devices are still unknown, but they will be powerful, especially the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro / Ultra. Those two devices are expected to utilize 120Hz displays, though different in resolution. Extremely fast charging will be included on both, while we’re also expecting really compelling cameras, though the Xiaomi 12 Pro / Ultra will likely have more to offer in that regard.
All three phones will likely be made out of metal and glass. All of them will probably have a display camera hole as well. More information will likely surface soon.
