Razer Is Partnering With Fossil For A Limited Edition Smartwatch

Razer is partnering with Fossil to create a smartwatch. Though, perhaps “create” isn’t really the right word. Unlike Razer’s last watch, the Nabu, which it unveiled at CES 2016 and designed and produced all on its own, the watch Razer is working on with Fossil is an actual smartwatch. And one that’s already on the market.

And that’s because it’s a Razer limited edition version of the Gen 6. A watch that Fossil launched in 2021. While this is still a Gen 6 at its core, the outside has familiar Razer stylings. For the most part it’s still recognizable as a Gen 6. But it does come with some unique details that a regular Gen 6 will not.

Like Razer-branded straps that come in black and green. As well as limited edition watch faces that you can only get on the Razer model of the Gen 6. It also supports Chroma, because of course it does. It’s a Razer product after all. Though, the Chroma lighting is baked into the display and appears as a ring around the bezel. As opposed to RGB LEDs that you can find in most other Razer products.

The Razer X Fossil Gen 6, as it’s officially called, will be a super limited device. There will only be 1,337 models produced, and it’ll retail for $329.99. A tad bit more than the standard Gen 6 which goes for around $260. Less if it’s on sale.

Those considering this watch for a purchase will have their chance to buy one this month. Razer doesn’t mention an exact launch date other than January. As for retailers who will sell it, you’ll be able to purchase it from Razer and Fossil online, and at select retailers.

Given its limited quantities though, don’t expect to have an easy time buying it. If it’s anything like Razer’s limited quantity drops of the Zephyr, securing one is going to be next to impossible for many people. Although, that will probably depend on the popularity of it.

When it comes to the watch specs, you’ll find all the same stuff that you would on any other Gen 6. Which includes Wear OS 3 compatibility in 2022, 8GB of storage, a 44mm case size, Bluetooth 5.0 and WiFi connectivity and more.
