The Google Pixel 6a has surfaced, and revealed a Pixel 6-like design, basically. This phone is not expected to arrive anytime soon, by the way, so keep that in mind. This leak comes quite early.
These images come from @OnLeaks, who partnered up with 91mobiles. These are CAD-based images, and you can check them out in both image and video formats. A gallery is included below the article, and the same goes for a YouTube video.
The Google Pixel 6a will offer a Pixel 6-like design, it seems
The moment you lay your eyes on this phone, you’ll notice it looks like the Pixel 6. Some people would easily get confused between them. It has a flat display, a centered display camera hole, and its bottom bezel is thicker than the rest of them.
All of its physical buttons sit on the right, while the power / lock button is located above the volume up / down keys. That’s perfectly normal for Google. The camera strip is located on the back, though it seems smaller than the one on the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. Check them out compared (in terms of size) down below.
Google’s branding is visible on the back, and the phone’s back curves towards the sides. The color shown here is the Cloudy White that Google offers for the Pixel 6 Pro. That could be only a placeholder color, though.
The phone is said to sport a 6.2-inch display
The source claims that the Pixel 6a will include a 6.2-inch display. So it will be a smaller phone than both the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. It is said to measure 152.2 x 71.8 x 8.7mm (10.4mm including the rear camera bump).
A Type-C USB port will sit on the bottom, along with two grilles, one for the speaker and one for the microphone. A SIM card slot will sit on the left. The source says that the device will likely feature a glass back.
The Pixel 6a is expected to offer a Snapdragon 700-series chip, but something newer and more powerful than the Snapdragon 765G that was included in the Pixel 5a. Perhaps the Snapdragon 778G, or something of the sort.
Let’s hope it will have the same main camera as the Pixel 6 & 6 Pro
We’re hoping that Google will include the same 50-megapixel camera as in the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, but it remains to be seen. The device will utilize 6GB or 8GB of RAM and ship with Android 12. Do note that these specs are only speculations at the moment.
This phone will launch next year, but it remains to be seen when. The Pixel 5a launched in August, though this phone may arrive considerably sooner than that. Perhaps in April or May, we’ll see.
