YouTube TV is adding a few more channels to its lineup, and surprisingly it is not raising the monthly price. So customers will get three new Spanish-language channels. These include Univision, UniMás, and Galavisión. Which will be the same $65 per month, and the channels are available starting today.
These added channels come in at a great time, as there are two big Spanish events coming up. Including the 22nd Annual Latin Grammy Awards premiering on November 18. And then there is the Campeones Cup airing on September 29.
YouTube TV also notes that local programming from Univision and UniMás will be available in select markets. These include Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami and New York.
Other channels will be available in a new add-on
YouTube TV is also adding a new add-on in the coming months, which will bring in a number of other Spanish-language channels. This add-on will include channels like Sony Cine, CNN Español, Discovery en Español, Estrella TV, Cinelatino, and Fox Deportes, among others. There’s no word on how much this add-on will cost when it debuts in a few months.
Finally, YouTube TV also announced that it will include another add-on, Pantaya. This is an on-demand streaming service for spanish-language movies, and it’ll cost $6 per month. This will be available for YouTube TV users in the coming weeks.
YouTube TV now offers over 85 channels, for $65 per month. Which is about the same as its competitors – like Hulu + Live TV, Fubo TV and others. It’s a pretty good value, and it’s good to see that YouTube TV isn’t adding all these channels to the base package and then upping the price. Which is what YouTube TV used to do. It is now embracing add-ons so that it does not need to up the prices on its monthly price.
