Google expects to sell quite a few Pixel 6 units. The company actually expects to sell more Pixel 6 units than any other Pixel line thus far. As a reminder, the company’s 2019 sales were its best ones thus far.
This information comes from Nikkei Asia. The company says that Google asked its suppliers to prepare “50-percent more production capacity” for the upcoming Pixel 6 and 6 Pro handsets.
Google actually expects to sell quite a few Pixel 6 smartphones
This actually means the company is looking to match the demands it made back in 2019. In other words, Google is hoping to sell quite a few Pixel 6 units, and trump last year.
As a reminder, back in 2019, Google shipped more than 7 million Pixel smartphones. The pandemic managed to ruin Google’s plans, as the company shipped only 4 million units in 2020. This information comes from IDC, by the way, in case you were wondering.
We still don’t know what is Google’s sales goal for Pixel phones. The company is certainly hoping to beat 2019, and sell over 7 million handsets. It will be interesting to see if it will succeed in doing that. It wouldn’t be surprising if Google is aiming to ship 10 million units, though that will be difficult to achieve.
Do note that other Pixel phones also count, as long as they’re sold in 2021. The Pixel 5a got released recently, and quite a few people may be interested in it, despite some issues that have been reported.
Both of those devices will be quite expensive
The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro will be high-end devices, and will be quite expensive as well. Therefore, the Pixel 5a may be a better choice for quite a few people. On top of that, the Pixel 4a and 5 are still solid options as well.
The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro will become official next month, and will go on sale towards the end of October. We already have quite a lot of information about both of those phones, so check out our previews if you’re interested in knowing more.
