Verizon customers now have one more affordable 5G handset to choose from thanks to the launch of the Orbic Myra 5G UW.
While not one of the better-known brands on the market, the new smartphone brings quite a lot to the table. Not least of all, as this handset’s branding implies, it brings Ultra Wideband 5G support. For clarity, that’s Verizon’s ultra-fast network, typically only supported by flagships. But that’s hardly the only selling point worth discussing.
What is Orbic Myra 5G UW?
Orbic started with ambitious goals for the Myra 5G UW, just for starters. To offer a premium, but cost-effective 5G handset will all of the latest features. And to that end, it’s packed the 6.78-inch FHD handset with a triple camera array. The latter of which is led by a 48-megapixel primary snapper, backed by a 118-degree view ultra-wide sensor. Last but not least, a 2-megapixel snapper is included for macro shots. Around the front, the company packed a 16-megapixel selfie shooter in a punch-hole cutout.
Under the hood, Orbic equipped its Myra 5G US with a battery that’s meant to last all day and fast charging. In fact, that’s Quick Charge 3.0 is supported by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G powering the handset. Summarily, the 5,000mAh capacity battery charges up using 18W charging via USB-C.
The company backed that arrangement up with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage with microSD card support to make that expandable. With support for up to 1TB of additional storage.
Additionally, Orbic indicates that this is its first phone to support “Verizon Adaptive Sound” on the audio front. That’s an audio solution that helps this phone reproduce spatial surround sound experiences with any headphones or apps. And that supports content for Dolby Atmos as well.
Pricing and availability
Pricing for Orbic Myra 5G UW starts at $349 in the solely available color for this Android 11 handset — namely, Black. But Verizon also has some great deals on this handset that will certainly sweeten the deal.
Not least of all, it’s currently free for new customers who sign up with a qualifying unlimited plan. The monthly payments, typically set at $14.58 per month, are presently set at $0 per month with a one-time $35 activation fee. Easily making it one of the highest-value offerings available, particularly for new customers to Verizon.
