Samsung just unveiled its new Galaxy Z series in the Unpacked event on August 11, and the company’s executives are optimistic about the sales of a large number of these phones. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 Galaxy Z Flip 3 are the new members of the Galaxy family, and there is a lot of excitement around them.

The demand for foldable phones is rising, and more people are starting to buy one of these easy-folding devices. Samsung C-suite executives decided to talk openly about their sales targets for new devices.

According to the market surveys, the demand for foldable phones in 2021 is up to 6.5 million units. This figure is in line with Samsung’s sales forecasts. So the Korean company hopes to gain more market share in foldable devices in 2021. Bryan Choi, Samsung Mobile Communications EVP, says that the company wants to launch devices “beyond the market demand” for the year.

“With the new Galaxy Z series, we’re bringing foldable innovations to more consumers by breaking down the barriers of entry with our pricing. I am confident that with our new Galaxy Z series, we can drive record high demand for foldable, inviting even more consumers to enjoy this new way of using their smartphone.” A Samsung executive noted.

The Galaxy Z series has gotten major upgrades, which could lead to better sales

Samsung has tried to make foldable devices more appealing than ever. Including adding support for the S Pen stylus. Not to mention adding more durability to the phones. The new foldable Galaxy members will raise the bar in the market.

Speaking of durability, Samsung Head of the Flagship Product R&D Team shared some helpful information about device durability. According to Dr. Won-Joon Choi, they used Armor Aluminum and Gorilla Glass Victus to protect the outer body of the Galaxy Z series. Moreover, he claims that this is the strongest aluminum frame and toughest glass material yet.

“Thanks to all these innovations, we believe that foldable smartphones such as the Galaxy Z series are set to become the new standard in mobile devices as the category turns mainstream.” Samsung R&D head added.

Samsung will be the leading company in the foldable devices market

Currently, no company can ever compete with Samsung in foldable devices. The Korean company took the initiative years ago, and others are left behind.

The sanctions imposed on Huawei by Trump’s administration helped Samsung to conquer the market. So, other companies like Google, Huawei, and Xiaomi are trying to catch Samsung. Google may be the only company that threatens Samsung’s monarchy with its Pixel Fold. The device is reportedly in the development stage.
