Google has issued a bug fixing update for Android 12 Beta 3. The update is currently rolling out to Pixel phones and brings minor but important bug fixes.

Any device currently running a Beta or Developer Preview build of Android 12 should get the update. The changelog (via XDA) reveals that the update fixes an issue causing some devices to be stuck in a boot loop after a restart. This was listed under Issue #193789343.

Further, the update fixes a bug that would sometimes cause the System UI to crash. Google has fixed another issue wherein the Android low memory killer daemon or lmkd would kill processes excessively.

The update comes with the build number SPB3.210618.016 and uses the July 2021 security patch.

In addition to fixing the bugs discussed above, the changelog says that the list of known issues in Android 12 Beta 3 will also apply to this new update. Some of them include the crashing of Google Maps as well as issues with secondary system accounts. Meanwhile, some bugs are fixed through app updates via the Play Store.

Android 12 will reach the Platform Stability milestone by August 2021

The Android 12 Beta 2 arrived in early June 2021, carrying some of the features showcased at Google I/O.

Among the features introduced was a new Privacy Dashboard. This dashboard provides information on the amount of data accessed by an app. Additionally, the Privacy Dashboard lets users know how often their data is being accessed.

Additionally, Android 12 introduces new indicators to highlight when the microphone or camera is accessed. The indicators will appear on the top right corner of the screen.

Google has also talked about Android Private Compute Core with Android 12. This blocks out a portion of the Android OS for AI and machine learning tasks. Since it has no access to the network, all data would be stored on the device.
