As we have crossed the mid of June 2021, more Samsung devices are now picking up the latest security patch. The latest one to receive the June 2021 security update is the Sprint carrier model of the Galaxy Z Fold 2.
Samsung is always on its toes and starts delivering the latest security updates well ahead. The same was in the case with the rollout of the June 2021 update. The company pushed the June security update for its devices, in the last week of May.
Although, the first devices to pick up were the international models of Samsung units. Fast forward to now, the company is seeding the latest security patches to the carrier variants.
According to SamMobile, the Sprint Galaxy Z Fold 2 is picking up the June 2021 security update with firmware version F916USQS1DUE3. Do note that the update is live for Sprint Galaxy Z Fold 2 model number SM-F916U.
Moreover, just like every other incremental security update, this June security update also just bumps the security patch level to the latest month and brings no new feature to the device.

The June 2021 security update fixes over 60 security-related vulnerabilities in Galaxy devices
To give you a brief detail about how important this month’s security update is for the Samsung Galaxy devices, it fixes over 60 privacy and security-related vulnerabilities.
So, it is highly recommended that you install the latest security patch on your Sprint Galaxy Z Fold 2 model. Besides, as always, the update is rolling out via OTA in batches. So, it won’t be available to everyone at once.
If the update is live for your phone, then you can tap on the notification to begin the download process. On the other hand, if the notification is not available for your phone, then you can also manually check for it.
To do that, you need to go to Settings > System Updates. After that, simply tap on the “Download and Install ” option to being the process of downloading and installing the update.
Since, Sprint has started rolling out the latest update for the Galaxy Z Fold 2 model, users on other carriers should also expect it to be live for their models in the US in the coming days.
To recall, the Z Fold 2 came with Android 10 One UI 2.5 out of the box. It was launched back in mid-2020. It received Android 11 One UI 3.0 in January 2021, and later, was served with One UI 3.1 in February 2021.
