The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 will, allegedly, include an under-display camera (UPC), and it seems like it’s really good, save for one problem. A well-known tipster, Ice Universe, shared more information regarding this.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 UPC camera will offer really good light transmittance
He says that the Galaxy Z Fold 3’s under-display camera will offer over 40-percent better light transmittance than any other camera of that type thus far. Not that it has many cameras to compete with.
The only smartphone that is currently available with a UPC camera is the ZTE Axon 20. That device didn’t really shine when it comes to the under-display camera, though, so… that’s not saying much.
Still, such increased light transmittance is a good thing, of course. Now, Ice Universe also shared one more tidbit regarding this camera. He said that, even though the light transmittance is high, and close to ordinary cameras, this camera will have one notable problem.
It will have one major problem, though
What will the problem be? Well, that camera won’t exactly be completely hidden. If you take a look at the image below, you’ll see that the camera will be visible, kind of.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is said to include one under-display camera, on its main (foldable) display. Its outer display will feature a display camera hole, which will be centered.
The device is expected to launch in August. It is tipped to arrive alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 3, S21, Watch 4, and Watch Active 4. We still don’t know when exactly will it arrive, though.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be the first phone in the series to support the S Pen, though. It will ship with the Snapdragon 888 SoC, and include top of the line specs across the board.
