These updates are mostly focused on improvements and bug fixes, but they’re nice to see, that’s for sure. On top of that, a new security patch is rolling out with most of them as well. Let’s see what’s new, starting with the ZenFone 8.
ASUS ZenFone 8
The ASUS ZenFone 8 is getting its third stable update since launch. ASUS is doing its best to further optimize its new flagship as soon as possible. This will brings its software version to “184.108.40.206”.
This update optimizes phone call quality on the device, while it further optimizes camera quality as well. System stability, in general, has been improved, while there are some region-specific improvements for carriers (Germany, Russia & Czech Republic).
ROG Phone 5
The ROG Phone 5 has quite a lengthy changelog, and the following software version -> “18.0840.2104.47”. It is getting a new Android security patch, for April 2021. Some issues with the 5G connection have also been fixed.
The icon cropping problem in App Drawer landscape mode has been fixed, and the same goes for occasional ads that have been popping up. Some echo issues have been fixed, as they were popping up during calls. Quite a few additional bugs have been squashed, check the image below for more details.
ROG Phone 3
Android security update for April is landing on the ASUS ROG Phone 3 as well. In addition to that, this update enables VoLTE / WoWIFI on MTS in Russia. Occasional Launcher crashes won’t be an issue now either.
ASUS has also fixed the issue that prevented the screen from outputting through HDMI to the ASUS MG279Q monitor. On top of everything, the APN list has been updated.
The ZenFone 6 is also getting a new Android security update. It only states that the security patch has been updated, it’s not listed which patch is included. The APN version has been updated on this phone as well. ASUS has also fixed the problem where the status bar cannot slide out when you’re playing videos or games in full screen.
