ASUS will deliver at least two major OS updates to the ZenFone 8 series, it seems. This information has been revealed by The Verge, as the company mentioned it in its review of the ZenFone 8.

The ASUS ZenFone 8 series will get at least two major OS updates

Truth be said, this was mentioned in the ZenFone 8 review, but it almost certainly applies to both devices. The ZenFone 8 and 8 Flip got announced recently, and they do come with similar internals. They’re both categorized as the company’s new flagships, and they’re both getting at least two major OS updates.

Considering that both devices launched with Android 11 out of the box, that means that they’ll get both Android 12 and 13 in the future. Android 12 is set to start rolling out later this year, while Android 13 will drop in 2022.

ASUS made the same promise for the ZenFone 6 when it launched in 2019. That device arrived with Android 9 Pie, and it had received two major updates since then. Android 10 dropped in November 2019, while Android 11 started rolling out in December 2020.

The ZenFone 8 and 8 Flip are considerably different from the design standpoint. The ZenFone 8 is one of the most powerful compact smartphones in the market, while the ZenFone 8 Flip is larger and it has a flip camera at the top.

The ZenFone 8 is easily one of the most powerful compact smartphones in the market

The ZenFone 8 managed to attract a lot more attention than its sibling. ASUS managed to pack in a lot of power in that compact device. The phone comes with a 5.9-inch display, and yet its specs are extremely powerful.

The device is fueled by the Snapdragon 888 SoC, while it includes up to 16GB of RAM. Its display offers a 120Hz refresh rate, while 30W fast wired charging is supported.

The bezels on this phone are minimal, while a display camera hole is included. There are two cameras on the back of the phone. If you’d like to know more about the device, check out our full review.
