Hulu has just announced that its Live TV service is gaining nine ViacomCBS channels starting today. These include Comedy Central, BET, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr, VH1, CMT, MTV, TV Land and the Paramount Network.
This addition brings the total number of channels available on Hulu + Live TV past 70. All without raising the prices. But this does not mean that Hulu won’t announce a price increase in the near future. With today’s announcement, there’s no word on any increases, in fact Hulu is still saying its $65 per month. So it’s great news for everyone.
Five additional ViacomCBS channels being added to the Entertainment add-on
In addition to the nine ViacomCBS channels that are being added to Hulu + Live TV today. You will also get five more ViacomCBS channels added to the Hulu Entertainment add-on. Which is available for $7.99 per month.
These channels are: BETher, MTV2, NickToons, TeenNick and MTV Classic.
This is a good move by Hulu + Live TV, as these are channels that most people won’t care about or want to pay more for. So adding them into an add-on like this keeps everyone happy. As ViacomCBS wants them to carry all of their networks, but Hulu + Live TV is also trying to walk that fine line of not increasing the price on its main package.
These channels are all available today – all 14 of them. If you are a Hulu + Live TV customer, you should see them appear in your live guide now. And you’ll also see its content appear in the on-demand section of Hulu. Which makes this deal even better. It’s awesome that Hulu does keep the traditional Hulu service included in the Live TV service for the same price. That makes the on-demand side of things a lot bigger, compared to its competitors.
