Motorola is currently developing three Motorola Edge smartphones, it seems, and they are coming to the US. One of them will allegedly feature a 108MP camera. These devices are supposed to succeed the Motorola Edge and Edge+ from last year.
This time around, the company will release not two, but three phones. This information comes from Evan Blass aka @evleaks, a well-known tipster. Three devices are coming, and are allegedly codenamed “Kyoto”, “Sierra”, and “Berlin”.
Three Motorola Edge smartphones are coming to the US
All three smartphones will arrive to the US, by the way. That’s basically everything Evan Blass shared, but TechnikNews did add some information about the Motorola “Kyoto” model.
According to their information, the Motorola “Kyoto” will feature a 108-megapixel camera on the back. In addition to that camera, the phone will also feature an 8-megapixel ultra-wide unit, an 8-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
A 16 or 32-megapixel front-facing camera will also be included in the package. Now, don’t let the 108-megapixel camera fool you, though. This will be a budget smartphone of some sort, it seems, though a rather interesting budget phone.
That’s basically all the information that was shared. We don’t even know when will these devices launch. If Motorola plans to stick to its release cycle, well, they should have launched already.
The Motorola Edge and Edge+ arrived back in April 2020
The Motorola Edge and Edge+ arrived on April 22 last year. So, perhaps Motorola is planning to launch them in May. That’s not as likely, though, as we would have received some information about them sooner.
We’ll just have to wait and see. One thing is for sure, though, at least one of these phones will become the company’s new flagship. We’re betting two will be high-end, though, especially considering they’re coming to the US.
Motorola will probably utilize the Snapdragon 888 in one of two of these phones, and it will be interesting to see what will they look like. Chances are the design won’t change much compared to the Motorola Edge and Edge+ from last year.
