Today NVIDIA pushed out another update to GeForce NOW, adding features like account linking as well as new games. GeForce NOW has been steadily getting updates every single week.
And while GFN Thursdays are normally focused on game releases, this week it’s about both game releases and the addition of some big features that add quality of life.
With today’s update there are just seven new games being added to GeForce NOW. This includes R-Type Final 2, which is a day and date release with the Steam version of the game. You now also get access to Chinese Parents, Darksiders II Definitive Edition, The Dungeon Of Naheulbeuk: The Amulet Of Chaos, GoNNER, SOMA, and Yooka-Laylee And The Impossible Lair.
GeForce NOW adds account linking so you can play games faster
Sometimes when you want to play a game, you just want to play a game. And any little details that lengthen that process only make things worse.
With the new account linking feature in GeForce NOW, NVIDIA is hoping to help players speed things up. The idea is that by linking your various game client accounts, you’ll no longer have to log in before you can play. Instead you would log in once to link the account. And that’s it.
From that point on, all you would have to do is launch GeForce NOW. Then click the play button on a game. As GFN will automatically have you logged into whatever accounts you have linked to it the moment GeForce NOW is finished booting up.
There is one caveat to this though. Account linking is only available at the moment for the Epic Games Store and Fortnite. NVIDIA does however note that it plans to expand this feature to other games going forward. When is anyone’s guess, but keep an eye out for more compatible games in subsequent GFN Thursday updates.
The in-game overlay is now available in Chrome browsers
Today’s update also introduces an improved search capability and adds the in-game overlay to Chrome browsers. So if you play in Chrome you’ll now have the overlay visible.
As always these updates are already live as of this morning. So no matter which platform you play on you should see the new games available. Features should also be live for all platforms unless otherwise noted. If you haven’t checked out GeForce NOW yet, now is a good time to do so with the availability on multiple platforms.
