The upcoming Google I/O 2021 will bring forth “significant” product announcements, says Sundar Pichai. As most of you know by now, Sundar Pichai is Google’s CEO, so this information comes straight from the source.

Before we get down to it, it’s worth noting that Google I/O 2021 will be a free-for-all virtual event. Google opted not to host a physical event this year due to the pandemic, as expected.

Alphabet, Google’s parent company, reported its Q1 earnings earlier today, showing a huge profit increase in Q1 2021. That managed to surprise everyone, as it was way over the estimates.

Well, Google has a lot more plans for 2021, and some of those plans will come to fruition during Google I/O 2021. The keynote will be particularly interesting, as Mr. Pichai promises big updates.

We’ll get both product updates and announcements. As is the case, people are wondering what will be announced. Some are even speculating that the Pixel 5a may arrive during Google I/O.

Well, that sure is a possibility, as you never know what to expect with Google. Some sources even expect the Pixel Watch to be announced. Well, the Pixel Watch will most likely arrive alongside the Pixel 6 later this year, but the Pixel 5a could make an appearance.

Could the Pixel 5a make an appearance at Google I/O this year?

The Pixel 5a did leak a number of times thus far, and it won’t be much different than the Pixel 4a 5G. For that reason, Google may get it over with during Google I/O, so that it may focus on other products that are coming.

Now, Google I/O is the company’s developers conference, so we will get tons of updates on Google’s services and so forth. Google may even talk about the upcoming Whitechapel processor that will fuel the Pixel 6 series.

The company probably won’t flat out announce the Pixel Watch, or the Whitechapel SoC, but the company may talk about them, at least briefly. We’ll just have to wait and see, but an interesting Google I/O is coming our way. Google I/O 2021 is scheduled for May 18-20, in case you were wondering.
