Garmin today has announced the Venu 2 series, two new smartwatches that can tell you how old your body is. In addition to the new ‘Fitness Age’ feature, the Garmin Venu 2 series also includes familiar features that you can find on some of the company’s other smartwatches.
Such as Garmin’s top-tier GPS built right in. As with generally any smartwatch or fitness tracker these days, the Venu 2 and Venu 2S are all about helping users get insights about their health. From fitness age to sleep scores to heart rate monitoring, both watches aim to assist users in living a healthier lifestyle.
Garmin believes that this is more easily achieved by understanding your body. And to that end have loaded both new watches with insightful features and wellness tools to make that more possible for anyone.
The Garmin Venu 2 series smartwatches can help you live healthier
As noted both watches come with a range of different features meant to help you live healthier, which Garmin feels can help you live better.
This includes the fitness age and sleep score features that are new additions to Garmin’s Venu watch line. With Fitness Age, the watch gathers a collective of a few different pieces of data. The chronological age, resting heart rate, and activity. It also looks at one of two things. Either the body fat percentage or the BMI.
It then adds those things together to come up with the body’s age. As for the sleep score, this tells users how well they slept. Allowing the user to make any needed adjustments for a better night’s sleep going forward.
The watches also feature things like a health snapshot, activity profiles for things like indoor climbing and hiking, and even guided HIIT workouts with animations displayed on the watch. So you know if you’re doing things correctly.
There are two sizes to choose from
Both the Venu 2 and the Venu 2S will come in different sizes. The Venu 2 is the larger option. Coming with a 45mm watch case and a strap size of 22mm.
Those wanting a smaller watch should go for the Venu 2S. Which comes with a 40mm watch case and an 18mm strap. Where users should really be taking notice though is with the battery life. As both last for more than a week.
The Venu 2 can last for up to 11 days in smartwatch mode, while the Venu 2S can last for up to 10 days in smartwatch mode. Meaning you get the full list of features and don’t have to disable everything to make the battery last longer.
Retail for these starts at $399 and both watches can be purchased from Garmin’s website. They should also be available from retail partners at some point.
