A new leak today is showcasing a first-look at a brand new tracker coming from Fitbit, called the Luxe. As the name suggests this is meant to look and feel like a luxurious new tracker. Featuring a “more elegant” design than previous trackers.
The leak, which includes images that you can see below, comes from WinFuture. The Fitbit Luxe tracker will come in three different colors, Black, Platinum & Orchid, and White & Soft Gold.
Somewhat new features are also inbound for the Luxe. The leak mentions some “partly new” features, but doesn’t elaborate on what those are. Likely because the details are not yet available.
The Fitbit Luxe tracker comes with a stainless steel case
To add some weight to the more elegant design nature of Fitbit’s new tracker, Fitbit is said to have opted for a stainless steel case. Fitbit has used plastic in many of its previous trackers. So the choice to use stainless steel would definitely give this new tracker a more luxurious design.
In addition to using metal for the tracker part of the device, the Luxe also has a buckle clasp like you’ll find on most watches. Allowing users to fit it to their wrists securely.
The straps are also said to be interchangeable. You probably won’t be able swap out the straps for just anything though. More than likely you will still have to get your straps from Fitbit. But many of the company’s more recent trackers have offered a wide array of options in that department.
There’s also an OLED display with full color so visibility shouldn’t be an issue. However there’s no information on display resolution or battery life.
Expect the typical slate of features in most other Fitbit devices
While there’s still not a lot on the books about the specs, there is some information on features. Most of these are the typical features you would expect to find in a device from Fitbit.
Such as heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, built-in GPS and more. The Luxe should track numerous different exercises including running, walking, cycling, swimming and others. And it would be surprising if it didn’t come with Fitbit’s Active Zone Minutes. A slightly newer feature that Fitbit introduced alongside the Fitbit Charge 4 and has since extended to a number of its other trackers.
As of right now there is no information on pricing or availability. However given the style and the size, it’s possible Fitbit could be looking to price this similar to the Inspire 2.
