The HONOR Magic foldable smartphone tipped to launch in the second half of 2021
He shared the information via his official Weibo account. The tipster said that the device will launch in the second half of the year, while he also shared some information regarding other devices from the company.
He confirmed that HONOR is planning to announce new mid-range phones, and a tablet as well. On top of all that, a new flagship smartphone is also on the way. That flagship is tipped to arrive in May or June.
As most of you know by now, HONOR is no longer a part of Huawei. Huawei sold HONOR, and thus HONOR can continue using Google services on its smartphones, it’s not affected by the US ban.
HONOR has big plans for the future, as it already agreed on a number of partnerships, as it looks to revive its old business partnerships. We still don’t have any information on the upcoming foldable smartphone from the company, but it sure is exciting.
A number of other OEMs will announce foldable smartphones this year
Samsung will announce several foldable handsets this year, while Xiaomi is expected to do the same. Both OPPO and Vivo are expected to announce their first foldable handsets, while Motorola’s will make a comeback as well.
HONOR may opt for a similar design to the Galaxy Z Fold 2 or Galaxy Z Flip, but who knows. As already mentioned, we have zero information on its design at this point, so all we can do is guess.
That device will, however, probably utilize high-end specifications. HONOR used to release well-specced smartphones with accessible price tags while under Huawei, and that trend will probably continue. It remains to be seen, but the company has huge plans for this year, and the future, so it will be interesting to see what will happen.
