Google is expected to announce its first foldable smartphone this year. While we wait for more information on it, a well-known concept designer has decided to show us his take on the Google Pixel Fold.
This is just a third-party concept device, not a leak or anything of the sort. Google will almost certainly use a completely different name for the device, as Samsung already uses the ‘Fold’ branding.
The Google Pixel Fold concept design gets shown in images and video formats
In any case, the designer, Waqar Khan, decided to show us this device in both images and video formats. An image gallery is placed below the article, and the YouTube video is embedded as well.
If you take a look at this design, you’ll realize that the designer was heavily inspired by Google’s current Pixel phones. The camera setup on the back is taken from the Pixel 5, and so are the colors.
This concept has two displays, and a design inspired by the Galaxy Z Fold 2. The main display is placed on the inside, and it comes with a display camera hole in the top-left corner. The secondary panel also has a display camera hole in that spot, and is quite large as well, similar to the one on the Galaxy Z Fold 2.
A fingerprint scanner is placed on the back of this phone, the same as on the Pixel 5. That’s not something many people will have a problem with, if it ends up happening.
You can see it in several color variants
The designer showed us this phone in several different colors, including Black, Green, and White. A Type-C USB port is visible at the bottom, while the phone’s physical buttons are visible on the right.
Google’s very first foldable smartphone is expected to arrive in the second half of the year. We still did not hear any specifics, but a well-known display analyst did confirm it’s coming, along with a well-known tipster. It will be interesting to see a foldable from Google, that’s for sure.
