Kingdom Hearts is coming to PC. Yes, you read that right. If you’ve been intrigued by the series but don’t own a PlayStation or Xbox console, you wouldn’t have had the opportunity to play any of the Kingdom Hearts games. That is unless you played them on someone’s else’s console. Starting next month though, PC gamers will get the chance to check out what all the buzz is about.
For those unfamiliar, Square Enix’ beloved Kingdom Hearts series is kind of like a cross between Final Fantasy and Disney.
While none of the main characters in the series are actually from Final Fantasy, the design aesthetic of them is very similar, helping the games draw in fans of other Square Enix franchises.
Kingdom Hearts on PC will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store
Love them or hate them, platform exclusives are a successful way to bring players to your storefront. In this case, Epic Games is going to be the sole vendor of the PC versions of the Kingdom Hearts games. At least for now.
While Epic doesn’t mention that the titles will be timed exclusives, it also doesn’t say that they won’t be. So that’s worth keeping in mind if you generally get your PC games elsewhere.
Included in the titles coming to PC in the near future are Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Chapter Prologue, Kingdom Hearts 3 + Re Mind, and Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory.
Prices will start at $50 and availability starts March 30
Prices for these games will be set at $50 and $60. $50 for Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX, and $60 for all of the others. For comparison though, if you own a PlayStation console, that platform will be the best place to pick them up right now from a value standpoint.
That’s because Sony just started its Big In Japan sale. Where you can once again pick up the Kingdom Hearts bundle called the Kingdom Hearts All-In-One Package at a discount.
This includes Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Chapter Prologue, and Kingdom Hearts III. Normally, this bundle is $99, but it’s currently on sale for $24.99 until February 25.
It doesn’t include Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind or Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory. But those games are also on sale at the PlayStation Store right now for $20.09 and $40.19 respectively.
Compared to their normal costs of $29.99 and $59.99. Basically if you want to play them on PC, the games are certainly worth full price. But if you want to save some money and have a PlayStation 5 or a PlayStation 4, get them on sale.
