Today Razer announced the Kiyo Pro, its second webcam in the Kiyo line coming with improved features and visuals at twice the price of the original Kiyo model.
While the Kiyo was designed mostly with gamers in mind, the Kiyo Pro is aimed at more than just gamers. Razer is taking an all-inclusive approach here. Marketing the camera as the best option for anyone from gamers to professionals who need a webcam for at-home zoom meetings.
Visually, the Razer Kiyo Pro webcam looks a lot like its predecessor. With a couple of upgrades of course.
The Razer Kiyo Pro webcam promises high-fidelity images even in low-light
The Kiyo Pro may just be the best webcam for anyone who needs both a tool for work meetings and a tool for game streams. The Kiyo Pro might just be able to meet those requirements for you.
Razer says it will deliver high-fidelity imaging and video capabilities, even in very low-light situations. Which makes it perfect for day and night. Work hard, play hard if you will. The technology behind this is a new advanced, high-performance adaptive light sensor. Which Razer says combines an ultra-sensitive CMOS sensor with STARVIS technology.
STARVIS is imaging technology from Sony that is designed specifically for CMOS sensors. The name STARVIS means outstanding VISibility under the STARlight. It was initially purpose built for delivering low-light imaging in surveillance camera applications. So you can see why this could be a big deal for a home webcam.
Reliable and adaptable to any setup
The original Kiyo was one of the most popular webcams out there for streamers. Partly because it was a Razer product, and Razer products are popular, and partly because it was a reliable webcam with great features. So it should be no surprise that the Kiyo Pro seeks to deliver the same experience, but better.
The Kiyo Pro is adaptable to just about any setup with two different mounting options. There’s the L-shape mount which can be affixed to the top of your monitor, and then there’s a tripod mount that allows a little more flexibility as you can put it wherever it suits you best.
The tripod mount does not come in the box though and is an additional purchase. Speaking of purchases, the Razer Kiyo Pro is already available as of today and retails for $199 over at Razer’s website. It will also be available from Razer’s retail partners in the future. In fact it’s already available on Amazon and Best Buy, though Best Buy is sold out of it at the moment.
