OnePlus 8 & 8 Pro Update Brings A Bevy Of Fixes & Improves Security

The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro have started receiving a new OxygenOS update, which not only improves security, but includes a ton of fixes as well. This update is marked as OxygenOS for both devices.

This update is based on Android 11, as both devices received that update quite some time ago. It started rolling out in IN region first, but it’s possible EU and NA are both receiving it as well, as we speak.

Needless to say, this is an OTA (Over-the-Air) update, though it’s a staged one. It may be available to some of you already, while the rest of you will get it soon.

First and foremost, let’s just say that this update brings an Android security patch for January 2021. The security patch on both devices was a couple of months old, so this will put some users at ease.

The update optimizes the experience of using long screenshots, also known as scrollable screenshots. The UI display effect of the notification bar has also been optimized, says the company.

The stuttering problem with some tripartite applications has also been fixed. In some instances, the Twitter app has been freezing on the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. Well, that issue has now been fixed as well.


The app split-screen issue has also been fixed

In some instances opening the app split-screen didn’t work, OnePlus worked on that problem as well. The failure to switch the accent color has also been fixed, though it only occurred in very rare cases.

The inaccurate display of the attribution of some numbers won’t bother you anymore either. Various other small, known issues have been fixed, and the general system stability has been improved, notes OnePlus.

Now, in terms of the OnePlus Gallery, some users had issues with videos. They refuted playback, that issue has been fixed by the company. The noise issue of 5G calls also won’t be present from this point on.
