GeForce NOW Turns 1, Brings Chrome Support To PC

GeForce NOW 1 Year Chrome on PC

NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW service is turning 1 year old today, and to celebrate the company has added Chrome browser support to Windows PC and Mac computers. Among other features and game updates.

Today not only marks the passing of 1 year since the service launched into its beta state, but it also marks the first day of GeForce NOW out of beta, so Chrome users on PC will get to experience things in its currently best form. Keeping in mind that the Chrome support on Windows and Mac PCs is in beta itself. Even if the service is not.

But it doesn’t stop there because NVIDIA is also promising a large swath of games being released this month. So there’s going to be even more of a reason to check it out if you haven’t already done so.

Play GeForce NOW games through Chrome on your Windows PC

Prior to now if you wanted to play GeForce NOW games on a PC, you had to do so through the installable client. Now, you can simply stream the games through Chrome like you do on Chromebooks.

This makes things a little bit easier as you don’t have to actually install anything. You can just launch Chrome and play the games through your browser. Which should also save you time. This also works for Mac computers, including the ones that use Apple’s new M1 chip.

Speaking of making things easier, now that GeForce NOW works in Chrome on PC, you can use the ctrl + tab shortcut to move between your gaming and whatever else you’re doing in the browser.

NVIDIA promises 30 new games coming to GeForce NOW this month

In addition to the updated ways to play GeForce NOW games, NVIDIA is also adding more games to play. Beginning with today’s list of 13 new titles that have been added to the roster.

This includes season 8 of Apex Legends, both Origin and Steam versions. As well as Blue Fire, Code2040, Curious Expedition 2, Magicka 2, Might And Magic Heroes V: Tribes of East, Mini Ninjas, Order Of Battle: World War II, Path of Wuxia, Secret World Legends, Valheim, Warhammer 40,000 Gladius Relics Of War, and Werewolf: The Apocalypse.

Beyond those games which you can access today, NVIDIA has already highlighted a bunch more games that will be coming throughout the month. Normally, it reserves the announcements about new games for the remaining Thursdays of the month. So this time players are getting a heads up beforehand.

These games include Darkest Hour: A Hearts Of Iron Game, Day Of Infamy, Everspace, Art Of Rally, Farm Manager 2018, Farmer’s Dynasty, Lara Croft And The Temple Of Osiris, Lumberjack’s Dynasty, Observer: System Redux, the Outriders demo, Project Highrise, Rise Of Industry, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, South Park: The Fractured But Whole, South Park: The Stick of Truth, The Legend of Heroes: Trails Of Cold Steel III, and Thea 2: The Shattering.

That’s a whole lot of incoming games. Worth noting though is that there is always a good chance there will be even more games added later in the month.
